and/or quantitative methods, and their work will have strong potential for external funding. An ideal candidate will be prepared to respond to growing student demand, both undergraduate and graduate students, to learn about how social factors are built into computing systems and how computing systems organize social life. Additionally, we seek a faculty member who will complement our department’s existing strengths in sociological study of demography, health, social psychology, and/or work. This position will also support the new Arts & Science Core curriculum, with the opportunity to teach in the first-year Core or develop an Exploratory Core course.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Vanderbilt expects excellence in research and teaching. A Ph.D. in sociology is required.
