The Smart Transportation Research Institute at Xidian University invites highly qualified candidates for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all levels and in the area of intelligent transportation.

Xidian University is a national key university featuring electronic and information science. The University has 18 colleges, more than 35,000 students, and around 2200 faculty. The university is characterized by its electronic and information science disciplines and is highly ranked in telecommunications and electronic engineering, and computer science.

Smart (Intelligent) transportation focuses on the applications of advanced ICT technologies in transportation. Xidian University is uniquely positioned to lead the next ICT-driven transportation revolution. Leveraging the world-leading position of Xidian University in ICT, the cross-disciplinary field of smart transportation has developed rapidly.

In the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities, Xidian is ranked No. 9 in the world in transportation science and technology. The Smart Transportation Research Institute, led by IEEE Fellow Prof Guoqiang Mao, has been established recently to coordinate the research strengths of Xidian University in telecommunications, electronics, and computer engineering to further promote the development of the cross-disciplinary field of smart transportation, and contribute to Xidian in becoming a world top university in transportation. We invite top researchers at all career stages all over the world to join Xidian to join this exciting endeavor.

Applications are invited in the fields of – Transportation engineering – Transportation data analytics – Vehicular networks and V2X technologies – Connected and autonomous vehicles – Advanced (transportation-related) sensing technologies – IoT (transportation-related) technologies – Business and logistics

Successful candidates may choose to be based in Xi’an (Xidian Research Institute of Smart Transportation https://ist.xidian.edu.cn ) or Guangzhou (Xidian Guangzhou Institute of Technology https://gzyjy.xidian.edu.cn ).

• Assistant professor candidates must have an earned doctorate, excellent academic credentials, and strong research plans.
• Mid-career candidates must be established leaders in their field; exhibit strong records of teaching, publication, and funded research; and demonstrate participation in interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Senior appointments are available for persons of international stature seeking to build substantial interdisciplinary research and teaching programs.
• Candidates with strong transportation industry background are welcome.
