Term Assistant Professor of Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) – Two Positions

George Mason University, Korea, invites applications for two full-time positions in Computational and Data Sciences at the assistant rank, starting in August 2026. The individuals serving in this position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computational and data sciences, including courses in our Master of Science program in Computational Sciences. Service activities will include coordinating with course developers in the CDS department in the U.S. as well as supporting Mason Korea as an academic unit. About the Positions
These are full-time, non-tenure track positions. The compensation package is competitive. The initial term is one year, with further opportunity for renewal and multi-year contracts. Mason Korea’s courses are all taught in English.
Responsibilities:

Minimum qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a field related to computational science and data science
- Experience in teaching courses in two or more of the following areas:
- Scientific computing
- High performance computing
- Scientific modeling/Simulation
- Machine learning
- Natural Language Processing
- Data visualization
- Scientific Databases (or more generally database management)
- Evidence or strong promise of teaching excellence at the college level
- Experience in teaching with and/or using R, Python, Python Pandas, Matlab, Fortran, and MySQL
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in developing course materials.
- Experience teaching multilingual learners and/or teaching in a setting with a diverse student body
