Term Lecturer
Job Summary
The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for term lecturer faculty positions across a variety of programs, including: Communication Sciences & Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Health Professions Education, Healthcare Administration & Data Analytics, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Rehabilitation Sciences, Healthcare Leadership, and Audiology.
Term Lecturers are appointed on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon student demand, and typically teach between 3-9 credits per semester, in various formats such as classroom settings, labs, simulation spaces, or at clinical sites.
Term Lecturers may hold titles such as Term Lecturer, Course Developer, Facilitator, Laboratory Instructor, Simulation Coordinator, Site Clinical Instructor, Teaching Fellow, Clinical Oversight Instructor, or Project Mentor.
Responsibilities include delivering didactic content through on-site and online platforms, managing course delivery, grading, student mentoring, and maintaining regular office hours.
Qualifications
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality instruction in alignment with expertise and program needs; develop and manage online course content using Desire to Learn (D2L); publish and maintain the course syllabus; oversee course management and content delivery; conduct assessments and assign grades; provide student mentoring and academic support, including office hours.
Required Qualifications: An advanced or terminal degree in a relevant field; previous clinical experience in applicable programs; an active professional license for programs requiring licensure; commitment to graduate student success and fostering diversity and inclusion.
Additional Skills: Flexibility in scheduling, ability to prioritize tasks, collaborative teamwork, especially in interprofessional settings.
