TES Library Assistant
Overview
Auburn University's Charles Cary Veterinary Medical Library is excited to begin the search for a TES Library Assistant to support library operations by providing administrative support and customer service. The Veterinary Medical Library is a branch of Auburn University Libraries and primarily supports the teaching, clinical applications, and research of the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM with some weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provides support for the daily operations and services of the Charles Cary Veterinary Medical Library. Responsibilities include assisting with student employee supervision and training, coordinating library workflows, and ensuring quality service to library users.
- Manages daily library operations, including maintaining an organized and accessible library environment, responding to patron inquiries, coordinating facility needs, and supporting library services and procedures. Assists with collection maintenance, including shelving, inventory, organization of materials, and management of special collections.
- Supports resource delivery services by processing interlibrary loan and document delivery requests, preparing materials for delivery, and maintaining accurate records. Assists with updating library webpages, research guides, and online resources to support the needs of veterinary students, faculty, and staff.
- Participates in library initiatives, committees, outreach activities, and events that promote engagement with the College of Veterinary Medicine and Auburn University Libraries.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support library operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of administrative support and customer service experience OR Associate's degree OR Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications: Experience working in a library and troubleshooting technical issues.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to contribute collegially and productively in a team environment. Ability to enter data accurately and consistently.
