This PhD project will assess the socioeconomic burden of Disorders of Gut–Brain Interaction (DGBI) — focusing on healthcare resource utilization (HRU) and productivity loss in conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Functional Dyspepsia (FD), and Functional Constipation (FC). Using a dual-method design, the study combines a retrospective cohort analysis of HRU data from medical records with a cross-sectional survey capturing the impact of DGBI on work productivity and quality of life…
