Theatre Instructor, Stagecraft and Technical Theatre - Part-time Adjunct Pool

Kern Community College District is seeking applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors in Theatre, focusing on Stagecraft and Technical Theatre.

Basic Function: Kern Community College District accepts applications for part-time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately if a need arises. Applications remain active for up to two years.

The starting salary is $67.00 per hour, which may vary based on assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. Refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or your college HR office for more information.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree AND 2 years of related professional experience; OR
• Associate degree AND 6 years of related professional experience. Professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
• OR - The equivalent. Candidates with equivalent qualifications must submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form with supporting documents.
• A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Degrees must be from accredited institutions. Foreign degrees require evaluation by a NACES or ACEI member service.

• Ability to work effectively with colleagues and students in a diverse environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service.
• Ability to develop curriculum across different modalities.
• Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain subject matter currency and assess student learning outcomes.
• Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies.
• Commitment to the California community college mission.
