Theatre Shop Assistant

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 2:00-5:00 PM/Flexible, 12 hours per week
Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No
Starting Salary Range: $16.31-$20.77 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.
Position Summary: Assist in the production and operation of the Academic Theatre Department production and event season.
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma and at least 1 year of related experience.
Position details include but are not limited to:
- Complete daily tasks as assigned by the supervisor and related to the production of a theatrical production or event.
- Under the direction of the supervisor perform basic carpentry, electrical, sewing, sculpting, decorative painting, metal work, and rigging.
- Maintain records and equipment/supply inventories as assigned.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools and technical equipment used in the theater set design or production.
- Assist with set design and stage scenery development by working from blueprints, diagrams, plans, or drawings.
- Assist with setup for theatre open houses and special events.
- Maintain a clean work area/set.
- Ensure safety regulations and guidelines are followed.
