Tift County 4-H Educator
Position Summary
This 4-H County Extension Educator position is an exempt professional staff role within UGA Cooperative Extension responsible for the delivery of the 4-H program within the assigned county. A high level of independent judgment is used to effectively carry out the essential duties of the job and the incumbent will manage both Extension program administration and 4-H education delivery by developing techniques and procedures as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
Duties/Responsibilities
- Teach 4-H Educational Learning programs in the classroom.
- Direct 4-H’ers in preparation for the 4-H competitive events including project achievement, judging teams, etc.
- Transport or arrange for transportation of 4-H’ers to various district and state events.
- Incorporate the results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs.
- Publicize programs and workshops offered in local county or nearby counties to clientele.
- Show high standards of professionalism in personal contacts, appearance, and work habits.
- Maintain office inventory of office supplies and materials as needed to support the 4-H program.
- Conduct in school club meetings and deliver the prepared curriculum that meets state guidelines.
- Identify, recruit, train, and help supervise 4-H volunteers.
- Make reports to appropriate clientele, staff members, Board of Education, Board of Commissioners, and public officials.
- Submit accurate and complete reports in a timely manner in GA Counts, 4-H enrollment, and the District office.
