Identifies opportunities for process improvement and technology enhancements related to transfer credit operations.Maintains and updates transfer course equivalencies, articulation tables, and transfer credit catalogs.Reviews and processes transient permission requests for Dalton State College students seeking to enroll at another institution for a limited period.Collaborates with academic departments regarding course equivalencies, transfer policies, and degree applicability determinations.Serves on Adult Learner taskforce and other standing committees through the University System of Georgia and campus structure.Supports military-connected students through their vetting process to receive VA - 20%- Serves as the institution's School Certifying Official (SCO) with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Certifies enrollment for students receiving VA educational benefits.
- Verifies student eligibility, enrollment status, program requirements, and academic progress for benefit certification.
- Processes certifications, amendments, adjustments, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participates in VA compliance surveys, audits, and program reviews.
- Processes Joint Services Transcripts for military-connected students.
- Coordinates with Financial Aid, Bursar, Admissions, and Student Success to support veterans¿ student outcomes.
Supports Registrar and Enrollment Services with record management and other acti - 10%- Assists with commencement ceremonies, record management, and graduation-related functions.
- Participates in registration events, orientation programs, and enrollment outreach activities.
- Assists as needed in processing registration related forms.
- Assists in educating students with registration procedures, academic policies, and available student resources.
- Collaborates with Customer Service staff to troubleshoot and resolve student inquiries.
- Other duties as needed.
Oversees the transfer equivalency database in the student management system - 10%- Works with staff to ensure Raptor and other platforms across Enrollment Services reflect current transfer credit policies.
- Creates reporting metrics on credit evaluation for Enrollment Services leadership.
- Develops outgoing communication to students waiting on transfer credit evaluations to be completed.
- Participates in upgrades, implementations, and system validation activities impacting transfer credit processes.
- Collaborates with vendors to build a more robust database of equivalent credits at other institutions.
Required QualificationsEducational Requirements- Associate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
Other Required Qualifications- Veterans Affairs SCO training that meets the qualifications to interact with and assist military-connected students enrolling in federal or private student aid and loan programs. This training will be provided at the time of hire.
Required Experience- Two years of relevant work experience.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred Experience- School Certifying Official (SCO) experience or completion of VA training programs.
