TRiO Coordinator
Job Description
Gogebic Community College seeks candidates for a full-time TRiO Coordinator at our Ironwood, Michigan campus. Under supervision of the Director of TRiO and Accessibility Services, TRiO Student Support Services (SSS), this position provides access, advisement and assistance to SSS participants in meeting their educational needs. The position is also responsible for coordinating direct support services for SSS participants within guidelines of the SSS grant. This program provides support services to students meeting the federal requirements of first-generation status, qualifying taxable income, and students with disabilities.
The pay grade for this position is a Grade 3/Initial Step in the Non-Affiliated scale with a starting wage of $45,680.41 annually.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the recruitment of TRiO-SSS program participants through dissemination of information at college orientations, classes, and workshops.
- Processes TRiO student applications, conducts intake interviews, and assesses entering students academic needs.
- Serves as a primary advisor to SSS participants, meets with SSS participants to keep on academic needs and progress, including financial aid, study skills, creation of Induvial Academic Plans and Personal Success and Services Plan (PSSP).
- Maintains student files and ensures that specific student contact requirements are met.
- Maintains/Updates Student Access Database for TRiO Participants
- Assists with preparing for the yearly Annual Performance Report (APR) submission per grant requirements with the Program Director.
- Attends national and regional conferences to enhance knowledge relating to SSS program.
- Coordinates and conducts various workshops, campus visits, and program activities for SSS participants; as well as participates in occasional overnight campus visits and cultural experience activities.
- Helps instruct and monitor effectiveness of SSS course CAR 103.
- Coordinates and assists with additional campus programming opportunities throughout the academic year.
- Research and implement new strategies to assist students achievement of academic success.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of/Ability to:
- Principles and practices of TRiO-SSS programs.
- Admissions, financial aid, majors and careers, recruitment and study skills.
- Rules and regulations governing TRiO programs.
- Provide information and service in SSS program.
- Work with diverse populations.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Operate a PC and related software.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other people and serve students individually and in groups.
Required Qualification:
Baccalaureate degree is preferably required in a human service-related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in delivery of college level student services.
