TRIO Upward Bound Instructor
The Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) is where students discover connections and community. It is where students live, where they gather, where they improve themselves, each other, and their university. DASA is where students seek guidance and support, both in and outside of the classroom. The division serves all students at NC State through three integrated components: academic affairs, student affairs, and University College.
The Upward Bound Program is an early intervention pre-college program that helps students prepare for higher education. Upward Bound brings high school students to college campuses after school, on the weekends, and during the summer to receive instruction in mathematics, laboratory sciences, composition, literature, and foreign languages. Tutoring, counseling, mentoring, cultural enrichment, and work-study programs are additional components to the Upward Bound Program. The NC State University Program serves five high schools (Vance County HS, Louisburg HS, Bunn HS, Franklinton HS, and East Wake HS).
The Upward Bound Program is looking for Instructors that will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing lesson plans in assigned curriculum courses in the following areas:
- High School English
- High School Science, including physical science and chemistry
- Computer Science, especially AI
- Providing written evaluations on each program participant
