"Trucking Services Assistant"

Job Details

Responsible for ensuring that the University’s deliveries, furniture removals, assembly of furniture, and placement of goods and services are completed daily.

Examples of Duties

• Deliver and set up furniture as required or requested
• Loading and unloading furniture from moving trucks and ensuring all items are moved undamaged
• Move distinct types of equipment
• Deliver student and departmental packages
• May be utilized to travel with the football and basketball teams to deliver playing equipment
• Responsible for other duties as assigned

• Effective communication skills when interacting with students, vendors, and fellow employees
• Organizational capabilities
• The ability to solve problems on the spot
• Basic knowledge of furniture assembly and disassembly
• Meticulousness skills when packing and loading for safe transportation

Supplemental Information

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Able to lift heavy objects throughout the day, up to 50 pounds
• Professional attitude
• Some night weekend and overnight travel may be required
