Job Summary

The Enrollment and Residency Coordinator is a detailed oriented, customer service focused position which plays an integral role assisting the college's varied community of potential students with successfully navigating the institution's registration processes.

The Coordinator oversees student compliance within the registration process with respect to residency, lawful presence, and applicants with disciplinary or law violations. Duties include communication, proactively identifying potential concerns, and providing assistance to applicants. Additionally, counsel students on campus regarding federal, state, University System of Georgia (USG) and Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) policies.

The coordinator plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment with the expectation of continuous improvement and first-class customer service. The incumbent participates in divisional activities as a member of the Enrollment Management Services Division. Collaborative and team-oriented skills with a commitment to student success are essential attributes for the individual in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate student applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility for in-state residency classification, lawful presence, and applicable tuition waivers based on University System of Georgia (USG) policy by interpreting guidelines, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and apply complex state laws and institutional policies concerning student residency for tuition purposes, ensuring compliance with USG regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for residency classification inquiries. Communicate effectively with students and families regarding procedures, documentation requirements, timelines, and outcomes via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Accurately update and maintain student residency status in the Banner Student Information System. Collaborate with departments within Enrollment Management to ensure consistency and accuracy of student records.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Admissions to develop and implement communication plans regarding tuition classification. Participate in Grizzly Orientation and contribute to the preparation of informational materials for prospective and incoming students.
  • Regularly audit student data and documentation for completeness and accuracy. Identify and initiate corrections as needed, ensuring compliance with audit standards and institutional expectations.
  • Compile and analyze statistical reports related to student residency classification and waiver activity. Maintain historical data to assist with annual planning and policy evaluation.
  • Coordinate tuition classification appeals by organizing committee meetings, distributing case materials, and briefing students on the appeals process and expectations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, supporting the goals of Enrollment Management and upholding the integrity of the tuition classification process.

Required Qualifications

2 Year / Associate Degree

Two to three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience with Banner

Two years of experience in the Registration Services/Admissions field

Two or more years of experience working in Higher Education

Experience interpreting policies and procedures for prospective students

Experience with computer systems, databases, programs and applications using Banner

Customer service experience

Experience in a dynamic team-oriented environment

Proposed Salary

38,300 - 45,900

Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
