Role: Tutor at Edinburgh College of Art
Grade UE06: £32,982 to £38,205 Per annum, Pro-rata.
Applications are invited for a Guaranteed Hours (GH), open ended contract as a Tutor in A&LA on the following courses:
ARCH11287 Exploring Situated Methods 1: Site-specific Field Lab (10 hours)
ARCH11226 Cultural Landscapes Colloquium (5 hours)
ARCH11129 History and Theory of Conservation (8 hours)
ARCH 11198 World Heritage (5 hours)
ARHI10061 Studies in Architectural History (7 hours)
The Opportunity:
We are seeking teaching assistance in Critical Heritage Studies with a focus on the imperial legacies of Edinburgh and de-colonial theory to join a team of teaching staff contributing to learning and teaching at both postgraduate and undergraduate level. The successful candidate will assist with teaching, field trips, assessment, and feedback across a variety of postgraduate and undergraduate courses from the start of the 2024/25 academic year. The courses have specified learning outcomes and sit within the postgraduate MSc in Architecture, Landscape and Environment, the postgraduate MSc in Architectural Conservation and the undergraduate MA(BA) in Architectural History and Heritage programmes.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Ability to guide students in fieldwork and/or theoretical work on Critical Heritage Studies.
- Ability to work within a team with a collegial attitude, respect and sensitivity toward students and other staff members.
- Ability to apply research experience in teaching activities to enhance student understanding
- An enthusiastic, positive and creative approach to teaching
- Ability to think critically and creatively.
