We are hiring two Postdoc / Research Engineer positions for 2 years contract to work on the new European Pilot Line to Industrialize Neutral Atom Quantum Chips. Centrale Lille Institut / IEMN will host a production, packaging and test center for microfabricated vapor cells with advanced features.
Q-PLANET is a €50 million European Quantum Chip Stability Pilot Line co-funded by the EU Chips Joint Undertaking and National/Regional Authorities across 11 Member States to develop industrial-grade chip components for neutral atom quantum computing, sensing, and communication to accelerate Europe’s quantum industrialization, user adoption and supply chain resilience.

Skills/Qualifications
We are seeking for two Postdoc/Research Engineer candidates with two different profiles to scale up our vapor cell microfabrication and characterization means and develop advanced features:
Requirements for Position 1:
- vacuum systems
- CAD modeling
- instrumentation
- analytical chemistry basics
- microfabrication is a plus
Requirements for Position 2:
- laser/optics system design
- basic atomic and molecular optics/physics
- automation/programming
- microfabrication is a plus
We are looking for candidates who are autonomous and have good communication skills.
Candidates with overlapping skills are encouraged to apply.
