Job Description:

The Office of Public Safety is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Typist.

This role requires evening availability, up to 10 hours per week. Specific days and times will be determined based on department needs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Answer incoming phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or agency.
  • Greet and assist callers and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide basic office support, including scheduling appointments, setting up meetings, and message-taking.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as filing, sorting, and distributing mail.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including copiers, computers, and the ID machine.

Requirements:

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A professional and welcoming demeanor when interacting with the public.
  • The ability to handle routine tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Be comfortable using common office technology.

Additional Information:

The hourly rate for this position is $18.42.

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
