Responsibilities
- WFSU Public Media is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our Corporate Support team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply administrative, communication, customer service, or nonprofit experience in support of public media fundraising.
- The Underwriting Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Corporate Support department, with a primary focus on maintaining accurate financial and sponsor-related records. Responsibilities include managing invoicing processes, including verification, distribution, and reporting; preparing, tracking, and submitting affidavits; and reconciling and tracking incoming payments. The position maintains databases, logs, and underwriting files and assists with keeping department information organized and up to date.
- The Underwriting Assistant also supports the department's digital and broadcast activities by updating website content, preparing weekly reports and lists and reviewing on-air sponsorship schedules. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative and operational support for department projects and initiatives as needed.
- The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines. The Underwriting Assistant must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively and communicate professionally with colleagues and sponsors.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications and the ability to learn and utilize databases and other software systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and demonstrated professional experience, preferably in nonprofit organizations, administration, or a related field.
- Experience with invoicing, payment reconciliation, record keeping, or database management.
- Experience working with donor, client, or customer records.
- Experience working in a professional office or administrative environment.

Anticipated Salary Range
$20.00 per hour

The position requires the ability to work a consistent schedule of up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, with work hours scheduled between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
