General Building Maintenance: Performs preventative and reactive maintenance across all skilled trades. Tasks may include repairing floor/carpet tile, patching walls, trim work, stair tread replacement, door closure adjustments, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, changing filters, and assisting with motor/belt replacements.Safety & Inspections: Conducts routine floor walk-throughs and inspections to identify safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or needed structural repairs throughout high-traffic spaces throughout the Elliott Student Union..Union Bowling Center (UBC) Maintenance & Technical Operations - 25%- Mechanical & Equipment Oversight: Schedules and performs regular preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and major rebuilds on string pin systems, pins, ball returns, bowling balls, automated scoring systems, and related mechanical components.
- Lane Certification & NCAA Standards: Maintains bowling lanes, lane conditioning equipment, and daily oil patterns to meet annual USBC certification requirements and NCAA regulations in support of the UCM Jennies Bowling program practices and competitions.
- Safety & Chemical Compliance: Ensures strict operational compliance with OSHA safety standards, high-voltage equipment safety, and proper handling/disposal of hazardous materials used in bowling operations.
- Staff Training: Trains student employees on machine safety, basic parts identification, and minor malfunction fixes.
- Inventory & Records: Maintains accurate operational logs for parts inventory, repair costs, and machine performance. Identifies replacement parts and prepares purchase requisitions.
Typical QualificationsEducation:- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:- One (1) year of mechanical experience required
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and painting preferred.
- Knowledge of bowling equipment/machines preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to complete required safety and technical certifications.
