Tenure-Track Professor in Occupational Therapy

Several research centers in the Greater Montreal area are affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine. As a faculty member at the School of Rehabilitation, you will be expected to develop your research program within one of these centers.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Through your undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and your research activities, you will contribute to the faculty’s pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, you will promote your discipline and actively participate in the daily activities of a renowned institution. As such, you will:
- Teach courses in occupational therapy and rehabilitation science programs at all levels, using various pedagogical approaches;
- Supervise graduate students in rehabilitation science or other programs through interdisciplinary or intersectoral collaborations;
- Conduct research and knowledge translation activities in a field related to occupational therapy or rehabilitation;
- Actively contribute to the strategic development and operations of the occupational therapy programs;
- Participate in committees and governance bodies of the School of Rehabilitation, and the Faculty of Medicine;
- Promote occupational therapy within scientific and professional communities and through community partnerships.
Qualifications
- Hold a license to practice as an occupational therapist issued by the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec (OEQ) or by an equivalent regulatory body in another Canadian province or territory, or be able to provide evidence that the application process has been initiated and that eligibility for obtaining this license, including any specific associated conditions, has been recognized by the OEQ;
- Hold a Ph.D. in a field related to occupational therapy, rehabilitation, or a relevant discipline;
- Have completed, by the expected start date, at least two years of postdoctoral research training, enabling the acquisition or consolidation of research independence, or demonstrate equivalent experience as an independent researcher;
- Demonstrate strong scientific contributions through various performance indicators appropriate to your career stage;
- Propose a promising research program in occupational therapy, rehabilitation or a related field;
- Show aptitude for delivering high-quality university-level teaching;
- Demonstrate potential to develop national and international collaborations;
- Demonstrate potential to supervise graduate students;
- Have adequate proficiency of the French language or be committed to learning it once hired, through the Université de Montréal’s French language support program, in accordance with the Université de Montréal language policy.
