University Assistant postdoctoral

The Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology has a vacancy for a postdoctoral position (40 hours/week, limited to 6 years). The position is assigned to the Differential Psychology and Psychological Assessment Unit (Head: Associate Professor Mag. Dr. Jakob Pietschnig, Privatdozent). We are looking for a candidate with a degree in psychology, a doctorate in psychology, with academic interests and experience in research and teaching in the field of empirical, quantitative research within differential psychology and psychological assessment.
The research focus should be on cognitive abilities and intelligence, their generational changes, as well as their bases and correlates. Support will be provided for the writing of a cumulative habilitation thesis. Applicants should be able to work well in a team and have strong social skills. We offer the opportunity to work in a highly motivated, committed, and internationally oriented team. The tasks include scientific research and independent teaching in accordance with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement in the areas of the field of work, as well as participation in university self-administration.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching and administration, which means:
- You will develop and consolidate a research profile in the field of intelligence and personality research.
- You will participate in research projects and scientific studies.
- You will publish internationally and give scientific presentations.
- You will apply for projects and solicit third-party funding.
- You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- You supervise students.
- You will participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance.
- You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
- You will contribute to the organization of academic events (e.g., conferences, symposia).
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in psychology
- Research expertise and initiative demonstrated through international publications in peer-relevant media
- High quality in your own teaching and experience with e-learning
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative data analysis and relevant software (e.g., R)
- Expertise in research synthesis methods
- Commitment to the use of Open Science practices
- Excellent English skills (C1)
- Team player with strong social communication skills
- High Level of commitment and independence
