About DoCS and the team: The Doctoral School Computer Science DoCS, founded in 2020, offers a structured doctoral programme that supports early-career research in Computer Science and Business Informatics. The programme includes world-leading researchers as supervisors and co-supervisors who pursue basic and applied research within an intensive doctoral teaching programme tailored to students' needs in small topical groups. The Doctoral School provides performance-based contract extensions (up to 6 months) for eligible doctoral students. The successful applicant will work in the research group Software Architecture at the Faculty of Computer Science, focusing on software architecture, design, and engineering in a cooperative environment. Your future tasks: You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, including completing and submitting your dissertation, developing software engineering methods and tools in areas such as Software Architecture and Design, LLMs for Software Engineering, API Design, Microservice Design, Software Engineering for Machine Learning, Code Analysis/Generation, and Continuous Delivery/MLOps. You will participate in research projects, hold university courses, publish internationally, give presentations, organize meetings and conferences, and handle administrative tasks.
Qualifications: Must-haves include a completed Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field, enrollment in a doctoral programme at the University of Vienna as a member of DoCS, an excellent academic record, motivation to complete doctoral studies, experience in software architecture areas, didactic skills, and excellent English proficiency (C1 level). Desirable skills include German proficiency (B2), teamwork, autonomy, knowledge of university processes, and international experience.
