As a University Assistant (Predoc), you will complement the research team led by Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Daniela Hohenwarter-Mayr, LL.M., at the Department of Business Law, Tax Law Division.

Your future tasks:
You will actively contribute to research, teaching, and administration, which means:
- Participating in research projects and academic studies in the field of tax law
- Working on your dissertation and publications; we expect you to conclude your dissertation agreement within 12–18 months
- Independently teaching courses in accordance with the collective agreement
- Performing administrative tasks in research, teaching, and examinations
- Supervising students writing seminar papers and theses
What you bring:
Must-have criteria:
- Completed master’s or diploma degree in law and/or economics with a legal specialization at the time of employment (very good knowledge of the Austrian tax law system is required)
- Excellent German skills
- Interest in the division’s main research areas
- Ability to conduct independent academic work
- Initial academic work in tax law (e.g., master’s, diploma, or seminar thesis) and teaching skills are an advantage
- Willingness to contribute to the division’s organizational and administrative tasks
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Very good English skills (C1) and IT skills (MS Office)
Desirable:
- Familiarity with the Moodle learning platform
- Prior experience working at a university research institution (e.g., as a student assistant or tutor)
- A team player with strong social/communication skills
- Independent and reliable work style
