Functional Areas of Responsibility Provide quality mental health services for all graduate and undergraduate students seeking assistance with a wide range of concerns and developmental/transitional issues. Facilitate mental health presentations and skill-building workshops to meet the various needs of the campus community. Develop and implement programs to augment individual client services, such as, but not limited to, support groups, training initiatives, campus outreach, etc. Duties Conduct individual/group/consultation counseling sessions using Solution-Focused Therapy or other evidence-based modalities with students who are seeking assistance from counseling services. Maintain client files, treatment plans, and case notes in a timely manner in accordance with departmental expectations. Work with the director of counseling services to provide outreach and campus-wide programming. Attend weekly supervision meetings with the director of counseling services. Share in on-call duty rotation and provide crisis assessment and intervention services as needed. Participate in training for faculty and staff. Coordinate with University Health Center and Office of Accessibility Services for necessary referrals. Act as liaison to Residence Life, Dean of Students' Office, Athletics, and a variety of other campus entities to address student issues or concerns as well as for training and programming needs that they may identify or request. Complete on-going continuing education and professional development in accordance with recommendations of accrediting bodies and credentialing requirements associated with continued licensure. Qualifications Master's degree in clinical counseling, mental health counseling, or college counseling required. Current independent Ohio Licensure in Professional Counseling (LPCC) or Social Work (LISW) in good standing required. An understanding of the issues facing University students, and experience or training in crisis intervention and suicide prevention. An awareness of the importance of culture, race, gender identity, religion, and disability status and how they and other dimensions of diversity intersect to impact mental health. Strong clinical, diagnostic, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability and willingness to provide crisis assessment and intervention during and outside of scheduled work hours.
