Should you join us, you will be employed by LASE but will work as part of the University of Greenwich academic division, contributing to its distinct strengths, community and identity while also being part of a wider group that brings together the scale, resilience and shared ambition of both universities.
Through LASE we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional and global impact.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow specialising in Indigenous Peoples’ food systems, with relevant expertise in nutrition, public health or a closely related field. Working with an interdisciplinary and intercultural team and Indigenous Peoples’ organisations and communities, the post-holder will contribute specialist food-systems expertise to research examining relationships among food sovereignty, health, nutrition, livelihoods, culture, environment and self-determination. Responsibilities include:
- Co-designing culturally grounded food-systems research questions
- Indicators and methods
- Reviewing nutrition
- Public-health and food-systems evidence
- Undertaking quantitative, qualitative and participatory research
- Helping develop, pilot and disseminate the IP-STATS toolkit with partners in Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Peru, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan.
Essential requirements include long-term lived experience that has developed substantive knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Peoples’ cultures, rights, priorities and contemporary issues, together with the ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and inclusively with Indigenous communities. Candidates who self-identify as Indigenous are particularly encouraged to apply.
