Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction (Ref.: 532478), to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Sustainability-X Lab in the Department of Real Estate and Construction, Faculty of Architecture focuses on transformative sustainability science and climate change research and cutting-edge innovations by gaining insights into complex human-nature systems, driving ideas that create impactful change in sustainability science and SDGs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To manage research projects on emerging cost-effective net-zero technologies in the built environment (STG/CRF/GRF, etc.);
  • To publish original research articles in high-impact journals; and
  • To secure external competitive grants, either working independently or with other team members.

Requirements

  • possess a Ph.D. degree in a discipline related to “Greenhouse gas emissions modelling; Reduced-complexity modelling of the land surface carbon cycle; Climate modelling; Climate mitigation modelling”;
  • demonstrate expertise in the study of sustainability science and climate modelling
  • have research experience in Greenhouse gas emissions modelling; Climate modelling; Climate mitigation modelling; and
  • have a strong ability of securing external competitive grants.

Applicants who have a strong track record of publishing high-quality research articles are preferred.

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
