Job description:
- designing and updating curricula and adapting professional higher education programmes to relevant requirements,
- organising or co-organising all activities required for course delivery in accordance with the curriculum and developments in the discipline, including coordinating and supervising the work of other course staff (teaching assistants, technical staff and other coworkers),
- delivering lectures to students, leading seminars and conducting other teaching activities related to the course,
- administering, assessing and marking examinations and tests,
- supervising students in the preparation of degree theses and other work,
- participating in other activities related to teaching in the relevant discipline, both within and outside the University,
- conducting scientific research and studying and developing concepts, theories and methods,
- ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for the unit’s staff and students, and ensuring that persons who come into contact with hazardous substances are appropriately trained and informed about the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures,
- performing other tasks falling within the broader professional area of the position.

- a doctoral degree in hydrogeology,
- work experience and knowledge in applied geology, specifically hydrogeology and karst geology,
- ability to lead fieldwork, hydrogeological monitoring and research,
- active command of Slovenian and English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR),
- securing, managing and implementing professional and research projects,
- independent performance of professional tasks and preparation of reports,
- continuous professional development and keeping abreast of developments worldwide,
- category B driving licence.
Specific Requirements
Requirements for the position:
Required education (level and field):
- doctoral degree (pre-Bologna system) in natural sciences or engineering
- doctoral degree (third-cycle Bologna programme) in natural sciences or engineering
Valid habilitation title:
- assistant professor or associate professor or full professor in the field ofgeology
or
- fulfilment of the requirements for appointment to an academic title. In this case, the job application must also be accompanied by evidence of fulfilment of the quantitative and qualitative criteria for appointment to the title or recognition of the title, in accordance with the Criteria. The candidate must enclose a statement confirming that they consent to the job application also being considered as an application for appointment to the title or recognition of the title, should the selection committee so decide. The title must be obtained prior to the conclusion of the employment contract.
