Your next career opportunity

As a critical member of the Williams Centre for Learning Advancement (WCLA), you will support the Faculty of Business and Economics in enhancing curriculum design and learning experiences. You will have the opportunity to drive innovative and inclusive learning approaches, contribute to strategic priorities, and engage with the wider university educational ecosystem. Your expertise will be pivotal in integrating blended, online, and interactive learning across undergraduate and graduate programmes.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Enhance teaching and learning: Support academics in developing high-quality learning resources and integrating innovative teaching practices.
  • Drive design development: Pilot and evaluate online pedagogies and contribute to strategic programme development.
  • Foster collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to facilitate creative solutions and support professional development workshops.
  • Advance research: Lead high-quality research initiatives in business and economics education.
You may be a great fit if:
You possess a doctoral qualification or extensive experience in educational innovation, with a proven ability to drive curriculum development and enhance learning experiences in business and economics education.You may also:
  • Have a record of research and publication in student learning or academic development.
  • Understand business education pedagogy, including simulations and experiential learning.
  • Demonstrate experience in online and blended learning transition.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be adept at developing professional learning for teaching staff.

Your new team – The Williams Centre for Learning Advancement
The WCLA was established in 2015 to nurture academic development in teaching and learning in the Faculty and build a strong culture that recognises the value of education within a research-intensive environment. From 2026 it will also integrate the Faculty’s experiential and work-integrated learning team, which is responsible for the Faculty’s internship subjects, including the WorkHub program.

WCLA works to assist staff with all aspects of teaching including curriculum design, development and review, pedagogy, teaching skills, assessment practices and evaluation, and the preparation of teaching portfolios for promotion purposes.

The Centre also works closely with units and centres across the university to ensure it is up to date with developments in the university and delivery of innovative programs in higher education.
