About the Job

The Pediatric Pulmonologist recruited will be appointed on the Academic Track where s/he will provide clinical expertise in the care of children with congenital and acquired airway & lung disease, & in control of breathing (apnea) both in hospital and outpatient clinic settings. In addition, the candidate will train learners (fellows, residents, and medical students). S/he will complement existing clinical expertise in bronchoscopy, pulmonary complications of organ transplantation, sleep medicine, exercise physiology, and develop clinical activities in an area of his/her choosing that adds another dimension of expertise within the Division.

The candidate will collaborate with all areas of the Department involved in the care of children with congenital and acquired pulmonary disease and with HCMC.

Qualifications

Applicants should have fellowship training in pulmonology and be board certified in pediatric pulmonology. As such, M.D. or equivalent, completion of U.S. pediatric residency and pulmonology fellowship program are prerequisites.

We are seeking a candidate with expertise in asthma, particularly in minority populations, lower SES, and persons of color because asthma morbidity is greater in these populations.

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine discovers and delivers outstanding medical care, enabling children with respiratory disease to lead a full life.

Our mission is to prevent respiratory disease and improve the health of infants, children, and young adults with respiratory disease through research, education, and clinical care.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $198,600; depending on education/qualifications/experience 

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment  (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
