The Opportunity

The University of Newcastle Research Excellence Fellowships aims to attract, support and empower world-class researchers.  

This prestigious program will accelerate innovation, collaboration and excellence by welcoming Fellows into strong research teams with demonstrated ability to nurture the next generation of research leaders and deliver outcomes that matter. 

The University will offer up to six (6) Research Excellence Fellowships to join one of our world-class research environments. 

About the Role

The Fellowship includes a Level B-D academic salary for four years, with the fourth year subject to performance, and a one off $50,000 in start-up funding. There is an expectation that the Fellows must submit competitive fellowship applications within the first 12-18 months in the role.

About the Immune Health Research Program

This program brings together experts in gut and digestive health, neuroinflammation, respiratory disease, stem cell biology, infection, kidney disease and transplant, and ear health for Aboriginal peoples. Together, they drive research that spans pre-clinical discovery to real-world implementation to improve health outcomes.
