Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct advanced research in plant genomics, including structural, functional, and comparative genomics
- Design and supervise experiments involving next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies (DNA-seq, RNA-seq, whole-genome and targeted sequencing)
- Develop and optimize sample preparation, sequencing, and quality-control workflows
- Perform and oversee plant genomic data analysis, annotation, and biological interpretation in collaboration with bioinformatics teams
- Contribute to grant proposal development, project management, and reporting
- Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed international journals
- Supervise and mentor postgraduate students and junior researchers
- Establish and strengthen national and international research collaborations
- Support translational plant genomics, biomarker discovery, and innovation initiatives at NMSRC
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Plant Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline
- Strong postdoctoral or equivalent research experience in genomics
- Demonstrated expertise in NGS platforms and genomic analysis pipelines
- Proven track record of high-quality publications
- Experience working in multidisciplinary and collaborative research environments
