The University is now seeking to appoint a new Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Research who will serve as a key member of UR's executive leadership team. Working closely with the Vice Chancellor and colleagues across the institution, the postholder will be responsible for shaping and delivering the University’s vision for academic excellence through enhancing and scaling the implementation of online teaching and our credit based system, research quality and innovation.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor will promote a culture of continuous improvement in teaching, learning and scholarship while ensuring UR remains responsive to evolving national priorities and global opportunities. The successful candidate will be an accomplished academic leader with a strong record of achievement in higher education. They will bring the credibility and strategic acumen to lead curriculum development, advance student success and drive the implementation of an ambitious research agenda aligned with Rwanda's development priorities.
The ideal candidate will have experience building productive partnerships with governments, industry, development partners and academic institutions, supporting research collaboration, innovation and graduate outcomes. They will also demonstrate strong organisational and financial leadership, with the ability to oversee significant academic resources and inspire colleagues across a complex and multi-disciplinary university environment operating in a collegial system.
