Offer Description
The Chair of Urban Planning and Spatial Management at the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is seeking a candidate for the position of university professor within the research and teaching staff category. The person appointed to this position will be entrusted with research, teaching, and organizational responsibilities for the Chair, the Faculty, and the University.

- Conducting research and publishing research findings in the field of social sciences, specifically in the discipline of socio-economic geography and spatial planning.
- Active participation in academic events and in the publication processes of scholarly works.
- Active pursuit of research grants.
- Domestic and international collaboration with research institutions.
- Exchange of knowledge and collaboration with the socio-economic community, including representatives of local governments.
- Teaching and mentoring students in bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in spatial planning and architecture, in Polish and English, including conducting classes using statistical methods and GIS.
- Participating in the education of doctoral students, including serving as a doctoral thesis advisor.
- Improving own professional qualifications.
- Active participation in the organizational work of the Department, the Faculty, and the University.

Specific Requirements
- Candidates who meet the requirements set forth in the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2018, Item 1668) and the Statutes of the Wrocław University of Technology are eligible to apply.
- A completed higher education degree in spatial planning, geography, geodesy and cartography, or other related fields.
- A doctoral degree in the social sciences or in engineering and technical sciences.
- A postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in the field of social sciences or in the field of engineering and technical sciences.
- Documented research achievements (details below).
- Documented participation in research projects and research teams (details below).
- Documented active participation in academic conferences or seminars (details below).
- Knowledge of spatial planning issues.
- Proficiency in using IT tools that support spatial decision-making processes.
- Membership in national and international scientific and professional organizations and bodies (details below).
- Documented experience in teaching at the academic level (details below).
- Documented experience in disseminating knowledge in non-academic settings (details below).
- Documented organizational activities, including organizing or co-organizing workshops, seminars, and/or scientific and/or educational conferences.
- Fluency in spoken and written Polish and English at a minimum C1 level—ability to teach courses in English.
- Creativity and excellent interpersonal skills.
Research and Creative Activities
Required
- Publications: authorship or co-authorship of at least 2 English-language articles in journals listed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) with a minimum score of 100 points over the past 10 years, providing detailed bibliometric indicators (total Impact Factor, h-index, citations indexed in SCOPUS).
- Publications: authorship, co-authorship, or editing of at least 2 monographs published by publishers listed in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) directory with a score of at least 80 points over the past 10 years.
- Participation in Polish and international research projects, and conducting commissioned work for industry: participation in at least 2 research projects or commissioned projects over the past 10 years.
- Expert reports, implementations, collaboration with industry, technology transfer, and the establishment of a spin-off: completion of at least 2 expert reports for industry or public administration entities over the past 10 years.
- Reviews of books, monographs, textbooks, and scientific articles: completion of at least 2 reviews over the past 10 years.
- Experience as a doctoral advisor: supervision of at least 2 doctoral dissertations over the past 10 years.
- Active participation in scientific conferences (domestic or international): at least 5 presentations or posters over the past 10 years.

* If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with Article 125(1) of the Act, taking into account Article 125(2) of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rector's consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of Article 125(7) of the Act should be met.

The date of receipt of documents is decisive. The deadline for receipt of application documents is 3:00 PM on the day specified in the Competition Information. Receipt of the candidate's documents will be confirmed by the Human Resources Assistant via email to the address provided in the application.
Candidates' applications will be reviewed by a selection committee appointed by Magdalena Baborska-Narożny, PhD, DSc, Eng, Arch., University Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture. After the competition process closes, applications submitted by post to candidates who were not accepted will be returned. Applicants will be able to collect their applications from the Human Resources Assistant within six months of the competition process closing, with acknowledgment of receipt.
