The University of Sheffield’s new MPharm degree opened in September 2025 and as our cohorts grow we are seeking additional team members to join us as we develop our discipline and our innovative curriculum.

In this role, you will specifically contribute to the delivery and development of community pharmacy practice content within the integrated MPharm with an emphasis on extended services.

Candidates for this post should be currently practicing in a community pharmacy setting and delivering extended roles e.g. Pharmacy First and the New Medicines Service. The role is offered as 0.8 FTE to facilitate continuation of practice and continuing professional development.

An independent prescribing qualification would be beneficial as would previous education and training experience. However, a commitment to fresh thinking, flexibility and adaptability in approach are more essential to this role.

This role is a Grade 8 position with annual increments, and the potential for promotion, and offers a unique opportunity to establish an academic career for a GPhC registered Pharmacist.

Based in the School of Allied Health Professions, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery (www.sheffield.ac.uk/ahpnm), you will join a vibrant community of teachers and researchers building the discipline of Pharmacy.

Applicants should provide a CV and a summary of the key skills and attributes they have to support student learning.

We offer:

  • 41 days annual leave (including closure days and Bank Holidays), with the possibility to purchase up to ten additional days.
  • Up to 5 days of paid time off to cover emergency caring responsibilities.
  • A commitment to work life balance including, flexible working opportunities and hybrid working where possible.
  • A highly competitive pension scheme.
  • Discounts at participating shops and cinemas, and a cycle to work scheme.
  • A commitment to your development, with programmes, learning modules and mentoring schemes.
  • An inclusive and diverse workplace.
  • A commitment to your wellbeing, with confidential emotional support, support for those going through the menopause, experiencing fertility treatment and having a baby, paid leave for IVF treatment and more.
