Offer Description
Position description:
- developing and updating course content for Slovenian language courses and adapting it to the requirements of specific university and professional higher education programmes;
- teaching Slovenian language courses to students enrolled in undergraduate study programmes (language classes and seminars), as well as in postgraduate Master's study programmes, and providing other forms of teaching, such as consultations and office hours;
- preparing, administering and assessing examinations and tests;
- keeping up to date with developments in the field and participating in national and international professional events;
- participating in other activities related to teaching in the relevant field, both within and outside the University (e.g. preparing habilitation reports for Lecturer titles, serving on examination and Matura committees, transferring knowledge in applied linguistics to teachers through various forms of continuing and lifelong education, contributing to the development of language teaching at lower levels of education, etc.);
- ensuring the safety and health of employees and students of the unit, including appropriate training and information for persons who come into contact with hazardous substances, and ensuring the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures;
performing other tasks falling within the broader professional scope of the position.

Conditions for the position:
- required education/level and field: University Teacher – Lecturer (Job Position Code: D017007), University Teacher – Lecturer with a Master's Degree (Job Position Code: D018003), or University Teacher – Lecturer with a Doctoral Degree (Job Position Code: D019005), depending on the candidate's level of education;
- an academic title of Lecturer in the field of Slovenian Linguistics, or an academic title awarded by another institution, provided that the title can be recognized by the University of Ljubljana; or the title of Guest Lecturer at the University of Ljubljana; or fulfilment of the conditions for obtaining the habilitation title of University Teacher – Lecturer in the field of Slovenian Linguistics. In the latter case, the candidate must submit, together with the application, evidence of compliance with the quantitative and qualitative criteria for election to or recognition of the title, in accordance with the Criteria. The candidate must also enclose a statement consenting to their application being considered, in the event of a positive decision by the Selection Committee, as an application for election to or recognition of the title. The title must be obtained before the employment contract is signed;
- professional competence and language-teaching and didactic competence, rhetorical skills, the ability to establish connections and collaborate, and the ability to organize their own work and the work of colleagues;
- three years of relevant teaching experience and at least three months of experience in a relevant professional environment.
