Essential Job Duties
The Technical Operations Manager manages business-critical processes relating to digital tools, data management, employment outcome reporting, and internal success measures.
Functional Responsibilities Include:
Career Outcome Collection, Analysis, and Reporting – 50%
The Manager will be responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of career outcome information to internal and external stakeholders.
Employment Outcome Collection and Analysis:
- In close collaboration with leadership and key stakeholders, this individual will be responsible for the design, launch, and continuous optimization of an employment outcome collection and analysis process that systematically captures relevant student employment outcomes across undergraduate and graduate programs.
- The Manager will work with stakeholders to ensure data collection processes align with national and internationally recognized industry standards.
Internal Outcome Reporting:
Generate regular internal employment update reports to provide stakeholders with insights into placement trends and career outcome data across programs.
Manage Portfolio of Digital Tools – 30%
The Manager will support full life-cycle management of a portfolio of digital tools, databases, and employment CRMs (Navigate, Simplicity, and 12Twenty) serving students, staff, employers, and alumni. This may include:
- Manage the technology lifecycle from sourcing, evaluating, and demonstrating potential vendor platforms to navigating approval processes, overseeing implementation, and executing secure offboarding procedures.
- Assess emerging technologies and benchmark tools and processes with peer institutions.
- Manage user access to digital tools, including granting and revoking access as users onboard, transition, and graduate.
- Implement CRM updates, including functional enhancements and API coordination between systems.
- Develop end-user training materials and serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting digital tools.
- Provide timely and effective support to users.
- Manage annual contract renewals, maintain documentation of contract terms, and track pricing information.
- Conduct periodic reviews of digital tool subscriptions, evaluating effectiveness, usage, impact, and return on investment.
- Create and maintain internal file storage structures for organizational documentation.
- Coordinate with campus partners to identify opportunities for shared technology resources.
Continuous Improvement Metrics and Measures – 20%
The Manager will maintain an internal Key Performance Indicator (KPI) system to measure operational effectiveness and impact. This dashboard will support data-informed decision-making among leadership and stakeholders.
Dynamic Metric Dashboard Design and Maintenance:
- Maintain dynamic analytics dashboards that visualize key performance indicators across programs.
- Key metrics may include user engagement, satisfaction measures, and career outcome data.
