Uwm University Centers Director

The UWM University Centers Director leads the development, implementation, and ongoing operations of the UWM University Centers located at Wisconsin Technical College System partner/host institutions.

Job Duties: The Director manages planned and current Centers, including oversight, budget, planning curriculum, monitoring progress, assessment, facilities agreements, etc. The Director liaises between UWM and WTCS host offices, including academic units, business units, UWM governance, legal, Chancellor, and Provost as appropriate. Approximately 50% of time is devoted to Center development and oversight, and 50% to advising and counseling students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Center Development & Oversight (50%): Lead planning and operations, build relationships with partners, manage agreements, budgets, course offerings, staffing, and ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Student Engagement & Advising (50%): Provide admissions counseling, academic advising, and serve as liaison at Centers, with regular travel required.

The Director reports to the UWM Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs and may supervise support staff.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, at least five years of direct student experience, record of progressive responsibility, experience in academic program evaluation, and ability to manage resources.

Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree, experience with inter-institutional agreements, supervision, collaboration with university offices, and budgeting.
