The University of Kassel is looking for outstanding researchers who would like to apply for one of the various ERC Grants together with the University of Kassel as host institution.
Funding is available for individual, excellent researchers and their teams. Applications are possible in the following funding lines:
- ERC Starting Grant: Further information on the ERC Starting Grants program (EU website)
- ERC Consolidator Grants: Further information on the ERC Consolidator Grant program (EU website)
- ERC Advanced Grants: Further information on the ERC Advanced Grant program on the EU website

The application procedure at the University of Kassel
- Get familiar with our application procedure and send us the filled in relevant forms available at: https://www.uni-kassel.de/uni/en/forschung/research-and-graduate-support/research-support/finding-funding/international-funding/erc-programme
- Since you are not yet employed at Uni Kassel, you need the support of a Chair/Professorship of a Uni Kassel Department or Institute for your ERC application. On the website linked above you find links to all faculties at the University. You should contact faculties related to your research area and find a department where you and your project could be placed.
- Send your express of interest and the filled in documents - at least three months before the application deadline - to Dr. Susanne Hoischen-Taubner from the Research Support Office: susanne.hoischen@uni-kassel.de
The Research Support team will guide you through the application process. We are happy to answer your questions about your eligibility, advise you on your project idea, read your draft proposal, provide feedback on the structure and evaluation criteria, and help you complete the required documents.
