Vascular Surgeon, Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Surgery, Vascular/Endovascular Surgery
The Stony Brook University Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery, is recruiting an attending at the level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to serve the medical needs of currently underserved populations on Long Island. The successful candidate will work closely with the Division and Department of Surgery. They will play a leading role in the multidisciplinary center for complex aortic disease with the support of the division chief and in collaboration with the Division of Cardiac Surgery. The candidate is expected to spearhead aortic clinical trials and new technologies, and to be academically productive through regional, national, and international presentations, as well as peer-reviewed publications on aortic topics.
Required Qualifications: MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Eligibility for or a license to practice medicine in New York State. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery. Completion of a fully accredited U.S.-based vascular residency or fellowship program. Demonstrated expertise in the management of complex aortic disease. Experience in clinical research, including participation in or leadership of clinical trials. Strong record of academic productivity with peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional, national, or international meetings.
Preferred Qualifications: Record of success in basic or clinical research. Interest and experience supervising undergraduate/graduate medical students, residents, and fellows. Prior experience with novel aortic technologies and aortic clinical trials. Leadership experience in developing or advancing clinical programs in vascular or aortic surgery.
