Veterans Resource Center Counselor - Part-time Adjunct Pool

Basic Function

Kern Community College District is soliciting applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors for the Veterans Resource Center Counselor position. The starting salary is $60.00/hour.

Representative Duties

This is for an adjunct pool that will be used to staff part-time adjunct positions. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and counseling Student Veterans, providing academic counseling and support services, and contributing to the development of programs and services for student veterans.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling. OR the equivalent. A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in serving veteran students.
• Ability to create education plans in strict accordance with Veterans Affairs regulations.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population with specific emphasis on student veterans or active-duty military personnel.
