Veterinary Nurse in Anaesthesia – 12month Fixed Term
Massey Vets – New Zealand’s Only Veterinary Teaching Hospital!
We are seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive team at Massey Vets for a position in our anaesthesia department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for anaesthesia, patient care and education.
About the Role
As part of our anaesthesia team, you will work closely with veterinary specialists, residents, interns, dedicated anaesthesia nurses and final-year veterinary undergraduates. You’ll help manage a wide range of cases, from general practice through to referral level, under the guidance of experienced anaesthetists. This role offers exceptional learning opportunities in general and advanced anaesthesia protocols, patient management techniques, and the chance to broaden your skill set within a supportive, collaborative environment.
This is a fixed-term, 12-month contract to cover parental leave. The position is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with eventual participation in the on-call roster.
Appointment will be reflective of skills and experience within the Grade 4 ($49,811 - $72,803) range.
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified veterinary nurse or veterinary technician with excellent communication skills.
- A positive, proactive team player who values inclusion, integrity, respect, and innovation.
- Someone eager to engage in teaching and learning.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general practice.
