Job Summary:
The Department of Radiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine seeks a Vice Chair of Clinical Operations (VCO) for the Department. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Associate Professor or Professor, based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Associate Professor- Professor
- Licensed MD or DO from accredited institution in the U.S., or
equivalent, if a non-U.S. graduate
- Colorado Medical License at time of hire.
- At least 5 years of experience in an academic medical center
with leadership responsibilities.
- ABR certified or eligible .
- Mid-career associate or full professor rank.
- Prior leadership experience in a radiology department within an
academic or large healthcare institution.
- Experience implementing new technologies and managing large,
multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and resource
management in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and
orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with employees at all levels throughout the
institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance
diversity and inclusion.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage
crisis situations and operational disruptions efficiently and
decisively.
- Proven ability to lead in a dynamic and complex environment,
making informed decisions that align with both operational needs
and strategic goals.
- High level of organizational and project management skills,
with the capacity to oversee multiple initiatives
simultaneously.
- Experience with implementing and utilizing data-driven
decision-making processes, particularly through the use of
analytics and reporting tools.
- Strong negotiation skills to manage cross-departmental
collaborations.
- Ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering an environment that
encourages professional growth, collaboration, and
innovation.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and
delegate responsibilities where necessary to ensure departmental
goals are met.

Salaries are based on years of experience and are equal across all ranks. Rank will be determined during the interview process after discussion between you and the department about your previous experience.
Associate Professor: $500,000 - $650,000
Professor: $500,000 - $650,000
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
