DESCRIPTION:

The Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services is the chief student affairs officer of the College, reporting to the President, and serving as a member of the Presidents Leadership Team. The Vice President provides vision, leadership and strategic direction for a comprehensive portfolio of programs, services, and strategic initiatives designed to support student success including: Enrollment Services, Reporting and Records, Financial Aid, Testing and Assessment Services, Advising Center, Services for Students with Disabilities, Veterans Resource Center, Counseling and Wellness Center, Center for Student Engagement and Leadership (CSEL), Food Pantry, Center for Families, Athletics, Housing and Residence Life, Career Action Center, Worker Retraining, Workforce Funded Programs, Student Conduct, and Care Team. The Vice President leads, implements, assesses and evaluates strategic conversion and enrollment initiatives and strategic college-wide collaborations related to enhancing student enrollment, retention and completion. The Vice President leads and implements student services strategic goals and action items in support of, and in alignment with, the College's Comprehensive Plan and Strategic Initiatives. The Vice President develops, manages and monitors budgets to ensure accountability and fiscal responsibility and hires, supervises and evaluates exempt, faculty and classified staff in the division.

This is an exempt position that reports to the President of Edmonds College.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the Enrollment and Student Services Division by overseeing the operation of programs and services designed to increase access and student success (access, enrollment, persistence, completion, and transfer). Advises the president in all matters related to enrollment management.
  • Lead administrator over Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Advising, Running Start, Registrar, Admissions, Testing and Assessment, Outreach and Recruitment and all related functions of Enrollment and Student Services.
  • Lead the student services division in the planning, development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of division strategic goals, action items and metrics in support of, and in alignment with, the College's Comprehensive Plan and Strategic Initiatives. Facilitate cross-functional teams to execute strategies and action steps that advance and realize college goals.
  • Work closely with Institutional Research to monitor, track and report out student success metrics providing leadership regarding applicable interventions for access and success.
  • Lead the planning, development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of strategic conversion and enrollment initiatives to increase student enrollment. Provide leadership for student success initiatives from enrollment to completion and transfer.
  • Co-lead the College's Pathways Initiative, including leading and guiding the Pathways Steering Committee and sub-committees, developing a five-year plan and annual budget, and regular communication to the campus community.
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate employees. Create an environment of inclusion, accountability and superior customer service within the division.
  • Lead administrator over the Running Start dual enrollment program, supervising RS personnel, operations, recruitment, information sessions, and all grants related to Running Start. Build relationships with school districts and oversee activities with high schools and middle schools including info sessions, Family Nights, fairs etc.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to student services and ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations.
  • Represent the College on the Washington State Student Services Commission and at other appropriate local, state and regional meetings and community boards.
  • Develops, manages and monitors college operating, student fees, self-support and Federal budgets to ensure accountability and fiscal responsibility.
  • Active and engaged member of the Presidents Leadership Team. Responsible for completing other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree is Student Development, Student Development Theory, Education, Community College Leadership, Counseling, Psychology, Business, or related fields.
  • Five or more years of progressive responsible roles in student affairs.
  • Three or more years of supervision experience, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.
  • Budget management, including planning, development and monitoring.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. This also includes the ability to produce clearly written documents. Those who are multilingual are strongly encouraged to apply.

COMPENSATION:

Salary is $154,911.40 - $179,883.17 and is based on the Edmonds College administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.

WORK SCHEDULE:

40-hour work week. Hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with an option of remote work 1 day per week. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required, with notice in advance.

FLSA Status:

The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
