Vice President for Enrollment Strategy
Description of Key Responsibility:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Vice President for Strategy are as follows:
Enrollment Strategy Leadership
- Provide strategic direction across undergraduate, graduate, and transfer enrollment to optimize volume, market mix, and quality.
- Collaborate with athletics leadership to align and optimize student-athlete recruitment in support of overall enrollment goals and in compliance with NCAA guidelines
- Lead the development and execution of a multi-year Strategic Enrollment Management plan that incorporates demographic trends, workforce demands, and financial modeling to support enrollment goals in alignment with the College's budget and planning goals.
- Partner with academic leadership to identify and advance program-specific enrollment strategies, including new program development, market expansion, and targeted recruitment pipelines.
- Collaborate with other institutional leaders such as academic and student life leadership to strengthen retention efforts and student success through contemporary enrollment management approaches.
Enrollment Marketing and Market Positioning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive enrollment strategy that integrates predictive analytics, financial aid optimization, and market segmentation to drive net tuition revenue growth.
- Provide executive leadership to develop enrollment marketing strategy, working collaboratively with the Office of Institutional Communication ensuring alignment with institutional brand standards and priorities.
- Partner with academic leadership to advance graduate enrollment strategy, aligning program offerings with market demand and supporting growth in high-demand graduate programs.
- Oversee enrollment and financial modeling, including enrollment forecasts, discount rate, and net tuition revenue to inform institutional planning and decision-making.
- Leverage the institution's CRM and other enrollment technology tools to strengthen student targeting with personalized communications to improve recruitment outcomes.
- Establish and lead a culture of data-informed decision making; monitoring performance and adjusting strategies to achieve enrollment and revenue goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on pricing strategies, including tuition, housing, meals, and fees, and the strategic use of financial aid leveraging.
- Define and deploy the College's value proposition for targeted student markets to strengthen recruitment outcomes in a competitive market.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing team across admissions, financial aid, and enrollment marketing.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Design and lead organizational structures around shared goals while recognizing the distinct functions and timelines within enrollment operations.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and high-performing staff committed to student-centered service.
Education/Training:
Master's degree required; advanced degree in business, higher education, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management or a related field, including:
- Demonstrated success leading enrollment growth and improving net tuition revenue in competitive markets.
- Deep expertise in financial modeling, tuition discounting, and enrollment analytics.
- Proven ability to translate market intelligence into actionable enrollment strategies.
Licenses or Certifications:
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is required.
Position Summary:
The Vice President for Enrollment Strategy (VPES) serves as the chief enrollment strategist, overseeing undergraduate and graduate admissions, financial aid, enrollment marketing, and enrollment analytics to drive sustainable net tuition revenue growth. Reporting to the president, the VPES is responsible for developing the institution's comprehensive, data-informed enrollment strategy in alignment with academic priorities and ongoing financial planning.
The VPES partners closely with academic and other institutional leadership to align enrollment goals with academic, athletic, and other co-curricular program development, market demand, and long-term financial planning. The VPES leads a highly analytical, customer relationship and outcomes-oriented approach to recruitment, financial aid leveraging, and student success, strengthening the College's competitive position in a rapidly evolving higher education landscape.
