The Position
Reporting to the President, the Vice President, University Relations will provide innovative and thoughtful senior leadership for First Nations University of Canada’s (FNUniv) external relations, brand management, communications, student recruitment, and advancement strategies.
The VP University Relations will develop and implement the University’s comprehensive growth strategies, including brand and reputation growth, fundraising and donor base growth, student growth, in support of the overall strategic plan.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strategic and values-driven leader who is a trusted and genuine relationship builder, communicator, and accomplished strategist, with the ability to navigate complex, multi-constituent environments with sound judgement, diplomacy, and integrity.
- Master’s degree is preferred; Bachelor’s degree in a related field with related work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years related work experience, preferably in direct association with education, programs, and/or communities, community and policy development.
- Progressive senior leadership experience and deep strategic marketing and communications, advancement, and student recruitment expertise within multi-layered, complex environments.
- Demonstrated cultural competency in working with Indigenous peoples and communities, including a deep understanding of Indigenous histories, worldviews, and protocols.
Additional Information
This position will be based at FNUniv’s Regina Campus. This position is a 5-year term appointment with an option to renew.
