Vice Provost of Research and Program Integration
The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) seeks a highly motivated individual with an exceptional academic record to serve as Vice Provost of Research and Program Integration. This senior programmatic leadership position provides leadership and advocacy for a unified UC ANR program with strong statewide, campus, and local engagement. The Vice Provost guides academic programs, including UC ANR Institutes, Program Areas, and Statewide Programs, and uses a transdisciplinary approach to advance programmatic and research priorities.
Location Headquarters: UC ANR Building, 2801 Second Street, Davis, California
Major Responsibilities
Leadership and Administrative Duties: Administer programs by assessing clientele needs, developing goals, implementing programs, and measuring outcomes. Strengthen and expand ANR programs, encourage innovation, and facilitate UC ANR's mission and strategic plan. Manage personnel performance reviews, evaluations, and professional development for program leaders. Serve on the UC ANR Program Council and ensure uniform application of UC policies.
Budget and Funding: Secure and manage resources, allocate them equitably, and maintain relationships with partners. Report on programmatic impacts.
Human Resources: Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, manage staff, and support diversity, health, and safety.
Advocacy and Communication: Advocate for UC ANR programs and participate in public activities.
Collaboration and Flexibility: Work with teams to integrate activities and address priority issues.
Professional Development: Engage in continuous self-improvement and training.
Affirmative Action/DEI: Comply with laws and promote inclusive excellence.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or terminal degree in related fields. Demonstrated organizational, management, and supervisory skills. Excellent communication skills and experience in managing multidisciplinary programs. Ability to handle complex responsibilities and lead a large organization.
Additional Requirements: Valid California Driver's License, ability to travel, and background check compliance.
Skills include independent judgment, policy analysis, data collection, communication, collaboration, and commitment to lifelong learning.
Salary & Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience in the UC Academic Administrator series. Refer to UC scales. Benefits include health insurance, retirement, vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Refer to UC Benefits.
