Visiting Assistant Professor - Computer Science
Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for an opening as a One-Year Visiting Assistant Professor in Computer Science, commencing August 3, 2026. The position requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a doctoral defense by May prior to the appointment. Candidates with specialties in Digital Forensics/Cybersecurity and Database Systems are especially encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include teaching on-campus and/or online in undergraduate courses in a range of department areas such as core curriculum, service, seminars, and workshops in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution. The successful candidate may also assist in promoting the Dept. of Computer Science & Institutional Technology programs as well as support the initiatives of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a doctoral defense by May prior to the appointment. Appropriate proficiency in oral and written English is required.
