Job Description

The Computer Science Department within the College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering at the University at Albany, SUNY, is seeking applicants for a full-time, Visiting Lecturer position to begin Fall 2025. The position is for the [contact details available in the full listing] academic year, with the possibility of renewal for AY26-27.

Primary Responsibilities:

Teaching (base three-three teaching load)
Department, college, and university -level service.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must be prepared to teach a variety of fundamental undergraduate computer science courses, develop, and improve courses, advise students, and serve on departmental committees.
Lecturers are expected to commit to excellence in teaching, and to constantly review and improve the pedagogy they use to engage and support student learning.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.

Minimum Qualifications:

MS in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution is required.
While all or most instruction will be in-person, applicants should also address their willingness for and experience with teaching remotely or on-line.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, or related area degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Prior college or university teaching experience is preferred.
