Visiting Assistant Professor of American Studies
Kenyon College, a highly selective liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the Department of American Studies, effective immediately.
Teaching responsibilities consist of two courses in the Fall semester and three in the Spring semester. We seek applications from interdisciplinary scholars whose work engages the field of American Studies. Candidates who specialize in the study of policing and carcerality are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching and to creating a classroom environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds can flourish. A Ph.D. in hand (in American Studies or related discipline) is preferred; applicants who are ABD will be considered.
