Spring 2026 Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position for Spring 2026, starting mid-January 2026, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with broad training in Analytical Chemistry, with expertise in chemical instrumentation and quantitative methods. Preference will be given to those with undergraduate teaching experience and potential for involving undergraduate students in novel research. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Analytical and /or Inorganic Chemistry or closely related discipline.

Teaching load for this one-semester appointment will be approximately 10 credit hours and will include teaching a 200-level quantitative chemical analysis course and a 100-level fundamentals of general, organic, and biochemistry course for nursing majors along with their associated laboratory sections. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching and working closely with students in a small college environment.
